Employee Free Choice Act
CWA asked all presidential candidates the following question in the CWA candidate questionnaire:
We would like to hear specifically what you would do as president to lead the fight to get the Employee Free Choice Act past the hurdle of a Senate filibuster and onto your desk for signature. We are happy to celebrate the passage of the minimum wage increase as part of appropriations legisilation, and would ask if you would consider that or a similar approach to restoration of collective bargaining rights for American workers.

On the Employee Free Choice Act: The Employee Free Choice Act is a starting point, but there is more to do. It should be an unfair labor practice to discriminate against any employee who doesn’t want to sit and listen to anti-union propaganda during working hours. And I will revoke the anti-worker, anti-union executive orders President Bush signed.

On the Employee Free Choice Act: Despite repeated attempts, John McCain did not respond to the CWA questionnaire with his position on the Employee Free Choice Act. However, Sen. McCain supported a Republican filibuster of the Employee Free Choice Act.
